Join Bishop Whitworth for a Festival Eucharist honoring the Feast of Absalom Jones and Barbara C. Harris, celebrating a shared legacy of faith, courage, and Black leadership in the Episcopal Church.
The service will feature the Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas, theologian, public intellectual, and Canon Theologian at Washington National Cathedral, as the preacher. Dr. Douglas’ preaching and scholarship have shaped conversations on race, justice, and faith across the Church and beyond, making this celebration a powerful and timely witness.
Sponsored by the John Burgess Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians, in collaboration with the Diocese and the Cathedral. Clergy are invited to vest and process. A reception will follow the service.
