Christie Towers – MANNA Pastoral Staff.
While completing my MFA in Poetry from UMass Boston, where I also taught undergraduate creative writing, I came to MANNA as a volunteer with the Black Seed Writers Group. As I came to know MANNA members through their writing, I found myself drawn into deeper relationship with the community, expanding my time with them to other programming as well. Inspired by the community’s faith and theology of love and belonging, I rediscovered my own faith and sense of belonging. This feeling of belonging led me to join MANNA as part of the pastoral care team in the summer of 2020. I am currently pursuing my M.Div at Boston University. In my spare time I like riding my bike, walking in the woods with friends, making exciting noodle dishes and writing.
