Local company Enigma Chamber Opera have been exploring Benjamin Britten’s three ‘church parables’. They have already staged ‘Curlew River’ and ‘The Prodigal Son’ here at the cathedral; coming up on February 16 and 17, they will present ‘The Burning Fiery Furnace’. (Tickets here.)

Today we are pleased to present a screening of their second church parable production, ‘The Prodigal Son’. We’ll watch together the film of this powerful retelling of the story from Luke’s gospel, and then share some discussion and Q&A after. With the Very Rev. Amy McCreath, and artistic director of Enigma Chamber Opera, Kirsten Z. Cairns.
