The Pilgrim and The Black Seed Writers Group
The Pilgrim is a ten-times-a-year literary magazine from the homeless community of downtown Boston. Since its founding in December 2011, The Pilgrim has featured the work of more than sixty homeless, transitional or recently housed writers.
The mission of The Pilgrim is to raise up voices from our homeless community, to share those voices with community members and others, and to empower these writers through self-expression. The Pilgrim was founded through the inspiration of James Parker, a professional writer who participated in a pilgrimage in 2011 with members of our homeless community. Each week, members of our homeless community gather for the Black Seed Writers Group. It is during the Writers Group that the pieces published in The Pilgrim are created.
The pieces published in The Pilgrim are created each week during the Black Seed Writers Group.
The Black Seed Writers Group meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
